Bobstar rose to the challenge put infront of him this weekend by defeating the World number 6, former world champion Dennis "The Menace" Priestley. His first round clash went down to the very final leg where he held his nerve to take out 85 for a 3 sets to 2 victory.

Robert began the match brightly, taking his chances and winning the first set 2-0. Dennis then battled back in the second set winning it 2-1. With the score now 1-1 in sets, Bobstar produced some great darts & won the third set 2-1. However Dennis then won the next 3 legs on the spin which meant it was 2-2 in sets with Dennis 1-0 up in the final set. Dennis was now just one leg away from victory and he had the darts in the next leg.

Dennis started this leg with a 180 followed by a 140 & Bobstar looked dead and buried! However as he was staring defeat in the face, Bobstar produced two exceptional throws hitting a 180 followed by a 98 checkout in 2 darts to take the match to the deciding leg. The final leg saw Bobstar on 85 & Dennis on 80. Dennis stepped up first and missed 1 dart at double 20. However Bobstar did not make the same mistake, hitting treble 19 with his first dart & then double 14 with his final dart.
