First
Round :
Robert Watson-Lang 2-3 Adrian Gray (1-2, 2-1, 2-1, 1-2, 1-2)
Robert
was drawn against Adrian Gray in the first round of Saturdays event.
He started brightly taking the first leg of the match against the
throw, only for Adrian to win the next two and claim the first set.
Robert then produced some great darts and won both the next two sets
by 2 legs to 1. This now meant that Bobstar only needed to hold his
throw in the fourth set and he would win the match. This set proved
to be just as close as the previous ones, but it was Adrian who won
the set including a 170 finish. In the final set, the score was at
1-1 when Bobstar wired the double 16 for a 112 checkout before Adrian
won the match with his next throw.

At Sundays event, Robert was in fine form, winning his first two matches
3-0, without dropping a single leg. This set him up to face Adrian
Gray for the second time in so many days, in their board final. The
match was very similar to the day before with nearly every set going
all the way, however it was Bobstar who found the extra gear to win
the match this time. Bobstar was now up against world number 6 Adrian
"Jackpot" Lewis in the last 32. He started brilliantly and
was unlucky to miss 2 darts at double in the very first leg before
Adrian checked out. This proved to be a fairly vital point in the
game as Adrian then produced some superb darts and it wasn't until
fourth leg that Bobstar got another shot at a double. However, this
time he took his chance and pulled the set back to 1-1. Adrian Lewis
then stepped it up a level, whilst at the same time Bobstar had no
fewer than 4 bounce outs throughout the rest of the game and Adrian
went on to win the match 3-0.
A great
performance from Bobstar this weekend, who aims to continue to produce
the same quality of darts and achieve further success in the upcoming
tournaments.
