Bobstar played very well this weekend in Castlebar, Ireland. As well as the PDC tournament on the Sunday he also competed in the non-ranked tournament on the Saturday where he reached the last 32.

Saturday's competition was played in a round robin format with groups of 5. Bobstars group included, Kevin Painter & the in form player; Wayne Atwood - who recently played in the World Darts Trophy before losing to the winner Gary Anderson.

Bobstar started off brilliantly with a 4-0 win over Don Healy. He then won a great battle against Wayne Atwood 4-3 by checking out on 143 in the final leg. After these two victories he knew that 1 win out of the next two games would see him through. He didn't have to wait long as in his next game he defeated Andrew Coulter 4-1. The final game in the group saw Bobstar lose out to Kevin "The Artist" Painter 4-1.

However Bobstar was now in the draw for the last 32 where he faced "Shaun O'connor". Shaun won his group by defeating both Tony Eccles and Mick McGowan. Bobstar started strongly straight away hitting a 180 with his first throw and claiming the 1st leg. However after a few missed doubles, Shaun stole the second leg and didn't look back from then on. He played absolutely superb and the final score was 5-1 to Shaun. Shaun carried on to the quarter finals where he lost to the runner-up Andy Smith.

The following day, Bobstar played Jon Archer in the first round, this was a very good game with Bobstar coming through to win 3-1 in sets. In the second round (last 64) he met the competitions number 15 seed, Wayne Jones. This game proved to be a brilliant game to watch as Bobstar narrowly lost both the first 2 sets 2-1 seeing Wayne only 1 set away from victory. However Bobstar produced an amazing fightback and some high finishes to bring the score to 2-2 in sets and 1-1 in the deciding set.
However Wayne had the darts in the final leg and despite Robert's best efforts he was unable to break Wayne's throw.

A very promising performance from Bobstar, who now hopes to carry on this form in the upcoming tournaments on the circuit.
