Robert reached the last 32 today, playing well to defeat Duncan Stewart 6-1 in the 1st round. He then defeated Andy Jenkins 6-4 in the last 64, hitting a 174 to leave double 16 in the final leg. This earnt him a clash with World number 2, James Wade in what was a close battle, Bobstar going 3-2 in front. However, Wade went onto win the game 6-3, Robert unfortunately missing 3 darts at double 8 in the final leg after hitting a 180 to set up the chance.


Dutch Darts Trophy Players Championship in Leiden, Holland

Robert reached the last 64 at Saturdays event, playing very well to defeat Leroy Kwadijk 3-0 in sets (2-1, 2-0, 2-1) in the first round. This earnt him a clash with World number 2, Raymond van Barneveld. Bobstar started very strongly & was unfortunate to miss 2 darts at double to win the opening set. The 2nd set also went all the way, Bobstar hitting a 180 followed by an 80 finish to take the set to a decider. However, Barney went on to win the match & reach the event final!


John McEvoy Gold Dart Classic Players Championship

Robert reached the last 32 in Killarney this weekend. He went into the competition as the 27th seed. He defeated Laurence Collins in the 1st round 3-2 in sets and in the 2nd round he played well to get past Danny Brosnan 3-1. This then set up a board final match against Andy Jenkins. Bobstar played very well and went 2-0 up in sets, only for Andy to power back to win 3-2. Andy was in fine form going onto be the runner-up, only dropping 4 sets on his way to the final.


Welsh Players Championships

Bobstar was unfortunate to be drawn against an in form Matt Clark at Saturdays event. However, on Sunday he reached the last 32. He defeated Gary Barnett 3-1 in sets in the first round to set up a clash with Kirk Shepherd. Robert played extremely well, winning 3-0 (2-0, 2-0, 2-0) to reach the board final. Crucially checking out on 124 & 84 (both on the bull) in the second set. Unfortunately, In the board final he couldn't keep this form going, losing to Mark Dudbridge.


Windy City Open Players Championship

Bobstar defeated Robert Miske 3-0 (2-1, 2-1, 2-1). It was a superb match, Watson-Lang hitting five 180's in the first six legs! This set up a 2nd round match against Michael Van Gerwen. Once again Bobstar's first throw was a 180, but it was Michael who came back to take the first set. Robert hit straight back to level. The next set saw Michael miss doubles for the match before Bobstar took out 152 & 72 respectively to take the match into a final set. Watson-Lang then unfortunately missed 6 darts at double to take the game into a deciding leg.




Windy City Open, Chicago 2008

Robert played well in Chicago this weekend. He started the weekend reaching the last 16 in the 301 double in singles event. This was then followed by a run to the last 16 in the mens pairs event, with Colin Lloyd. The pair were flying through the rounds, including a 2-0 victory over Ronnie Baxter & Peter Manley in the 1st round and were unfortunate not to advance further in the competition.



Ireland Open Classic & Ulster Open

Robert reached the last 64 in Ireland on Saturday where he was unlucky to lose 3-0 in sets to Barrie Bates, each set being 2-1. Sunday saw him compete in the non-ranked Ulster Open. He played well & reached the last 16 of the event, coming back from 3-0 down to defeat Martin Burchell 4-3, including a 115 & 145 finish. He then won 4-1 before hitting 3 maximums in knocking out Geoff Wylie
5-2 in the last 32. However, Tony Eccles ended his run in the last 16.


Koningshof Players Championships

Bobstar reached the last 64 in Holland at Saturdays event, defeating Rico Vonck 3-0 in sets without dropping a leg. He then faced Mick McGowan, this was a very good game where Mick proved just too strong, Mick winning 3-1 in sets. Sundays event saw Bobstar take on Peter "Snake Bite" Wright. Bobstar played superbly in the first set winning it 2-0. However, he could not keep this form going, which allowed Peter in, who went on to win the match 3-1 in sets.


Bobby Bourne Memorial Trophy

Bobstar reached the last 64 in Blackpool today. He won his first game without dropping a leg against Francis Mellor, including an 11 dart first leg and a 120 checkout in the final leg. He then defeated Jim Leighton in his second game in straight sets before meeting Wez Newton in the board Semi-Final where he lost out 3-1. It was a close game, with Bobstar missing 2 darts to level the match at 2-2.


Las Vegas Desert Classic Qualifiers

Bobstar took his form from Sunday into the qualifiers, as he defeated Matt "Superman" Clark 5-3 in his first game, coming back from 2-0 down. He then defeated Andy Mason 5-3, before he unfortunately lost against Kevin "The Artist" Painter in the board final. The next day he played very well defeating Fred Krueger 5-1 before he lost out in the final leg to Scott Kirchner 5-4.




Las Vegas Players Championship

Bobstar was in great form as he defeated the recent UK Open runner up, Gary Mawson, 3-2 in sets in the first round today. The scoreline could have been even better as Robert had darts to win both the sets he lost. In the second round he continued his run, defeating Stuart Holden 3-2 in the board final. However, his run was ended by World number 3, James Wade in the last 32. Bobstar took the first leg in 13 darts, but James proved too strong & battled back to victory.



Bristol Trade Centre Players Championships

Robert was in Bristol this weekend. He defeated Aaron Monk 3-2 (in sets) in the 1st round at Saturdays event before losing to Kevin "The Artist" Painter 3-1.
On Sunday he played his first round tie with Chris Mason on the stage, he played quite well in a very close game but lost out 3-1 in sets (1-2, 2-0, 1-2, 1-2).


2008 PartyPoker.net US Open

Robert was in Connecticut this weekend for the 2008 US Open at the Mohegan Sun Casino. He defeated J. Wayne Heinrichs 3-0 (in sets), only dropping 1 leg in the 1st round. He then faced Adrian Gray in the second round for the third time in recent weeks, the previous two matches had been shared.....

Antwerp Players Championship

Robert was in Antwerp this weekend where he reached the last 32. He defeated Mick McGowan 3-2 (in sets) in the 1st round, winning the final set 2-0. He then defeated Kees Slokkers 3-0 in sets. He then lost out to Peter "One Dart" Manley in the board final, 3-0, (0-2, 0-2, 1-2). He was unfortunate with both the first 2 sets as he missed his doubles, the scoreline could have been very different.




Players Championships in Germany, Bad Soden

Robert was in Germany this weekend. He was very unlucky at Saturdays event losing out in the final leg to Adrian Gray "The Conqueror". However, on the Sunday he reached the last 32, including a defeat over Adrian Gray, just a day after losing out to him the day before.

North West Players Championship

Robert was in good form in Wigan this weekend. In his first match, he defeated the recent World Championship competitor, Jamie Caven 3-2 (sets - 2-1, 1-2, 1-2, 2-1, 2-0). He then went on to defeat world number 26 Wes Newton 3-0 (sets - 2-1, 2-0, 2-1). It was Dennis Smith who ended Bobstar's run, in what proved to be a close battle, Dennis coming out on top 3-2.






Bobstar in Quarter Finals at Essex Open 2008

Robert reached the Quarter Finals at the 2008 Essex Open today. He defeated William Wilson 3-1, Brian Barnard 3-0, D. L........ 3-0, Daniel Day 3-1 and Michael Barnard 3-0 before narrowly losing 3-2 to Darren Peetoom. Darren went on to reach the final where he lost to Steve "Smudger" Smith.







StanJames.com Players Championships in Gibraltar

Bobstar produced some great darts this weekend. On the Saturday, he was unlucky to lose out in the first round to Chris "The Hitman" Thompson 3-1 in sets, after missing doubles to go 2-1 up. The next day Bobstar defeated Ian Eames 3-0 in sets before losing in the very final leg to Chris Mason, having chances to defeat the previous days runner-up.






Bobstar in Superb form at the PartyPoker.net German Darts Championship

Bobstar was in fine form this weekend where he reached the last 64 in Germany. He defeated one of this years Las Vegas qualifiers, Stuart Holden, 3-0 in sets (2-0, 2-0, 2-1), hitting 3 180's & a 144 shot out. He then defeated Shane Passey 3-1 (2-0, 2-1,1-2, 2-1) hitting a further 2 maximums. In the next round, despite another 180 and a 164 finish, he lost to Colin Jaws Lloyd 3-0 in sets (0-2,1-2,1-2).





Bobstar reaches last 32 in Killarney

Bobstar made it through 2 very tough rounds this weekend to reach the last 32. He won his board defeating J.Leahy 3-1 and Jason Cullen (who had knocked out Wez Newton in the previous round) 3-2 in sets. He was unlucky in the following round losing 3-1 in sets to the current number 13 in the world, Barrie Bates.

Bobstar shows fine form in Germany

Bobstar was presented with a tough draw this weekend. He first had to get through a preliminary round. If he was to get past this, he was then faced with top dutch player; Erwin Extercatte, who won the Open Hotel Zwartewater in Holland just the week before. Finally after this he would face the current Champion of the World; Raymond Van Barneveld, in the board final. Click to see how he got on



Bobstar in Wales

Bobstars good form continued this weekend at the Newport Centre in Wales. He hit a 167 finish in defeating Henry O'neil 3-0 in sets in the Players Championship on the Saturday before he was beaten by top player Kevin Painter. The Sunday was a similar story as he defeated Isen Veljic 5-3 in a very good match before he was beaten by the world number 4, Terry Jenkins.





Strong performance in Ireland

Bobstar played very well this weekend in Castlebar, Ireland. He competed in the non-ranked tournament on the Saturday wher he reached the last 32, aswell as the PDC tournament on the Sunday. He was able to carry this form over to the Players Championship the following day.

Bobstar claims Colchester Singles Trophy

Bobstar won the Colchester Premier league darts singles title last night, defeating this years Essex Super League singles winner Jamie Robinson 3-0 in the final. The trophy has been won by many top established dart players before, including; Kevin "The Artist" Painter and the current world number 3, former World Matchplay and World Grand Prix champion, Colin "Jaws" Lloyd. Bobstar performs well in Germany

Bobstar reached the last 64 in Germany this weekend where he was extremely unlucky not to progress further, losing in the very final leg to Sean Palfrey who went on to reach the quarter-finals defeating Wayne Jones & Adrian Lewis.

Bobstar reaches the last 32 in Scotland

Bobstar reached the last 32 in the Players Championship in Scotland this weekend. He defeated Lionel Sams 3-0 in sets in the first round before taking out Kevin Spiolek 3-2. It took the 2006 World Matchplay runner up; James Wade to end his run in the tournament.
